Vidyalaya Library : An Open Door to the World

 The library of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malanjkhand, is growing day by day through the acquisition of required books. Currently, the library has 2932 books.

Library periods are used to bring students to the library for reading and issue/return of the books from the circulation counter.

The library aims to promote reading habits in students as well as staff of KV, Malanjkhand. The library holdings are arranged subject wise for quick retrieval of books. Biographies of several eminent politicians, national heroes, scientists etc are made available to students. Four different Newspapers and various magazines are available in library for staff and students.

Book borrow cards are used for issue return to students and a register is maintained for issue/return to staff. Facility of internet is also available in the library. A Library Orientation Program is conducted at the beginning of new session for the students of Class Six.  Various activity based programs are conducted to create skills among the students. Library Overall


Mission

The Library provides a welcoming learning environment for students and staff; supports the school’s aims and curriculum; encourages the love of reading and the development of students’ independent learning skills.

Opening Hours

The library is open every school day from 08 a.m. to 02.10 p.m.

Library Periods

According to the school timetable, the students of Classes VI-XII can visit the library for the issue and return of the books during their library periods. During this time, they can read reference books, periodicals, and e-readers and also participate in library activities. 

Borrowing information

Students

02 book for a period of 02 weeks

Faculty and staff

Maximum 05 books for a period of 01 Month. The users should submit their ID cards for the automated circulation of books.

Class Libraries

Class libraries are functioning for classes I to V.

Open Access and Classification

The library follows an open access system. The books are classified and shelved according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (Ed. 22). Every book is bar coded, and spine labels are attached. Fiction and books for class libraries are shelved separately.
